Backup privacy policy

Radicalus Music operates this private backup tool to protect its business records. It uses rclone to access Google Drive and restic to encrypt backup contents before upload.

Google account access

The tool requests Google’s drive.file permission. This permits access to files created by this application or explicitly shared with it. It uses this access to store encrypted backups, list and check backup files, and retrieve backups for recovery. Backup maintenance may remove obsolete files when a retention policy is configured.

Information stored and used

Backups can include equipment and service history, customer contact information, business transactions and attached documents from the Radicalus Music application. These contents are encrypted before upload. Google Drive receives encrypted files and associated file metadata. Recovery keys are stored separately from the Drive repository.

Google OAuth credentials and authorization tokens are stored in access-restricted files on the shop’s Mac Mini. They authenticate backup and recovery operations and are not included in public source code or this website.

Sharing and purpose

Google Drive is the storage provider for these encrypted backups. The tool does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to train artificial intelligence models. Backup data is used for business continuity and recovery.

Retention and control

Backups remain until removed by the owner or a configured retention process. Revoking access in Google Account settings stops future authorized access but does not automatically delete existing backups. The owner can remove backup files from Google Drive. Google’s own deletion and retention behavior also applies.
